Verona in Shelby

Love love love Verona’s!! I have tried lots of different options on the menu and have never been disappointed. Great food & great staff!

This place is a great little spot. Ate here 1 time, going back today! Cheese steak is really good!

They are the best Greek food in the area. Their prices are fair. Their staff is mostly friendly. I haven't had any experience with management so can't judge.

Nasty and bland. To think i wasted 25 dollars for something I could've made at home and it would've been a million times better. Nasty cold hard breadsticks with my baked spaghetti and a box of lettuce with one tomato! Save your money and don't waste it here like I did.

Ordered a calzone and it has taken over thirty minutes to get it. Still waiting....Edit: waited over 35 minutes. Had to go in for a third time and all employees were in the very back and the back door was open. I’m not sure what they were doing back there. Went home and they made they order wrong. Over $25 for two meals that were absolutely terrible and we Couldn’t even eat them. We normally go to tuscanos but couldn’t because it’s Sunday and they are closed. I can’t wait for tuscanos to open! If your lookin for good food, tuscanos blows this place out of the water

Usually a great place, but staff has a tendency to be rude when THEY make a mistake and are called out on it. It's not the customers fault you forgot to give them their entire to go order. We won't be back.

I absolutely love the food here! The Greek Calzone is my favorite!

I asked for a little lettuce to put on my steak and cheese, $1.00 extra on my bill. Asked for a few banana pepper, another $1.00 added to the bill.No garlic spread on bread sticks offered. I was scared to ask. I have never been charged for a leaf of lettuce or banana peppers in my past visits. I found the bread sticks boring and tasteless.I will need to think long and hard if I will eat there again. No, I'm not going to go broke, but I DON'T like surprises on my bill.And yes, I did leave a good tip.

had the runs all night, couldnt even go to sleep

Ever since this place was sold we’ve had a bad experience. Last week our Stromboli were burnt black on the bottom to where a knife would not even cut through. Tonight a week later we are brought breadsticks hard as oak! I asked waitress why she would even serve them and she looked at me like I was nuts! Wait staff changes every 3 weeks. They are not properly trained in service. But the food for the most part is good. However we will be frequenting the old owners at their new restaurant! Verona inShelby needs to close its doors and regroup!

The food is excellent! I'm from Philly so I know what a good cheese steak tastes like and theirs are the closest to home I've found in 20 years! Wish they delivered!

Not really impressed when we pulled in the parking lot. There were 8 of us. We got a large variety of food. 11 beers. The bill was only $77.00 and the food was delicious!!! Highly recommend!

I've been making an attempt to only order from local restaurants during the 'rona and this has been a major miss. I've never been disappointed by alfredo sauce on pasta before, and I've been the kind of broke where walmarts 99c a jar sauce was a luxury item. Everything was fairly bland, stiff, and sad. But it was food, it was warm, and I definitely didn't overeat here. Not ordering again!

Stopped today for something different... regretted immediately. Bathroom was disgusting, holes in the roof, no toilet paper or paper towels... couldn't help but wonder how the staff was washing thier hands etc... bread was old, salad was plain, food was decent but the place was dirty. We had to ask them to clean the table off again. Floors were sticky, mirrors were smeared & the register was gooey. Walked outside on the way back to our car & saw a tampon & dirty toothbrush on the ground beside the entrance. If I had seen that on the way in instead of out I would've turned around then! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!

My favorite place in Shelby ! Everything is fresh and hot ! Truly great Greek and Italian food .I order several times a week . Very affordable. Great service also .

I've never been to Verona's. I was very skeptical, due to so many claiming to specialize to be "Italian and/or Greek". Well... This place is very exceptional! They are just at if not perfect! They do specialize. I'm so full now, but still want more. ... Great Job Verona's!

Good! Really not much atomsphere..they still had xmas flowers on the table at the end of April. Our server was new she did a good job. Salad was very fresh however the pasta dishes needed more sauce. Large portions for the money.

Food is delicious, staff was friendly. Only reason it gets 4 out of 5 stars, my Mama drinks milk and they didn't have any.

Verona's is our go to restaurant for Greek and Italian food. Order anything from the menu...I have never gotten anything but great food. Some days it has gotten impossible to park during lunch because of a new business that takes all the parking but I think most evenings and weekends is OK. The recent remodeling really helped especially if you have a larger group.

Finally, somebody makes Calzones. Great food, good prices, good service. Don't let you first impression of the outside keep you from going in. It's clean and cozy.

The pasta dish was made with Texas Pete chili! I wasted 11 dollars on a horrible dish! I will never eat there again!

Get the Stromboli. The price was great for the price of food. Or waitress kept us well taken care of. Delicious can't wait to eat here again.

Not sure about the reviews saying the place is dirty because it looked very clean. The only complain I have is the spaghetti sauce tasted sour like it was about to go bad. Definitely not fresh food. I should have known because their menu has upwards of 80 menu choices. I find it very insulting when a restaurant charges their customers for old microwaved food. If they reduced their menu items, maybe they would be able to serve fresh food.

I have been to Verona many times and always loved the food, however last night we had a problem. About an hour after my wife and I got home we both had violent stomach cramps followed by diarrhea. I don't know whose fault that was but it's awfully concerning that Verona never keeps staff for more than a few weeks. Last night I didn't recognize a single face and they had a sign on the door desperately seeking more help. It's seems appearant that new staff may not be properly trained. I would advise people to avoid this place until they can get their staffing problems worked out.
